Terms of Service
These terms govern use of ReviewGate (reviewgate.ca), a service of Self Edit Technologies Inc. ("we", "us"). Last updated October 15, 2026.
1. The service
ReviewGate monitors the Google Business Profile reviews of the listings you connect, alerts you to new reviews, drafts replies for your approval, screens reviews against Google's content policies, and, when you approve a quote, prepares and submits removal requests and one appeal through Google's official reporting channels. An optional legal escalation package refers a case to an independent partner law firm.
2. Your account and authorizations
- You confirm you are authorized to act for the business and to manage its Google listing.
- Your dashboard link is your credential. Keep it private; anyone with the link can act on your account. We can issue a new link on request.
- Replies are posted to Google only after you approve them (or where you have turned on automatic replies for positive reviews). You are responsible for the content of replies you approve.
- Removal requests are filed only after you accept the quote for that case. We submit requests in good faith, citing a specific Google policy, and only through Google's own channels. We do not guarantee Google's decision.
3. Fees
- Subscription: the monthly rate shown at sign-up, billed monthly in advance to the card on file, for one location unless otherwise agreed. Month-to-month; cancel any time and the subscription ends at the close of the current billing period. No refunds for partial months.
- Removal success fee: quoted per case before you approve it. It is charged only if the review is verifiably removed from Google, whether on the first request or the included appeal. If the review stays, nothing is owed for that case.
- Legal escalation package: a flat fee shown before you accept, covering the partner firm's review, demand letter and legal-removal request. Any litigation is quoted separately in advance.
- Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes. Charges appear on invoices from Self Edit Technologies Inc.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use ReviewGate to post fake reviews, to request removal of reviews you know to be genuine and policy-compliant, to harass reviewers, or in any way that violates Google's terms or applicable law. We may decline or stop work on a case that does not meet Google's policy criteria, and we may suspend accounts used for these purposes.
5. Our commitments and limits
We will provide the service with reasonable skill and care. We do not control Google and do not guarantee any outcome, timing or continued availability of Google's APIs. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
6. Data
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it. You can disconnect Google or ask us to delete your account at any time.
7. Changes and termination
We may update these terms with notice by email; continued use after the effective date is acceptance. Either party may end the subscription at any time. Sections 3 (fees already incurred), 5 and 8 survive termination.
8. General
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and the courts of British Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions: support@reviewgate.ca.
